Fingers crossed it’s not Francis and Mary!

The CW 2014-2015 Schedule Press Release

As it turns out Reign will not be moving next Fall, and will continue to air following The Vampire Diaries at 9/8c on The CW!

You can check out the very detailed press release below, but beware of spoilers!

Over the course of the stormy first season of REIGN, Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) struggled to balance her many roles — as Queen of Scotland; as faithful friend to her ladies in waiting; as royal fiancée, and later as young wife to the future King of France, Francis (Toby Regbo). Challenges came in every form: the reigning Queen Consort of France, Francis’s mother, Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows), did everything she could to destroy the union of Mary and Francis, even if that meant taking Mary’s life. Francis and Mary were both torn by their duties to their respective nations, paving the way for Mary to form a close bond with Bash (Torrance Coombs), Francis’s illegitimate brother, who could offer Mary a level of devotion the future king could not. King Henry (Alan Van Sprang) descended into madness, and a bloodthirsty menace in the woods threatened those within the castle and beyond the castle’s walls, taking dozens of lives before it was ultimately annihilated. REIGN begins its second season with Mary and Francis at the helm of a nation burning. France is rocked by the after effects of the plague – a disease that takes thousands upon thousands of lives across the land and ravages the stability of a nation. From the ashes, powerful lords will rise, carrying out personal, religious and political vendettas, taking lives and tearing at Mary and Francis’ commitment to each other and to their people. Friendships will be tested, loved ones murdered and alliances betrayed. Meanwhile, a mysterious and deadly threat snatches victims from village streets and castle corridors, leaving evidence of savagery that looks like the work of monsters: mythical creatures who are the stuff of nightmares, but who may actually walk among us, doing the Devil’s bidding.

TVLine May Sweeps Scoopapalooza!

PRE-FINALE EPISODES | “We’re going to move time forward more quickly towards the end of the season,” executive producer Laurie McCarthy tells TVLine, suggesting that King Henry’s madness will begin to progress more rapidly. “Mary will be the focus of his ambitions, of his rage and maybe even his desires.” Speaking of desires, one thing you should not expect is a rekindling of Bash and Mary’s romance. “There will always be a lingering thing between them,” McCarthy admits, “but [Kenna] is going to find herself falling for Bash, and she’s going to be successful in getting him to fall for her. Our lives have chapters. People move on.” As for that pesky “darkness” lurking about, McCarthy promises, “By the end of the season, we’ll answer the question of who the ‘darkness’ is and what kind of terror he’ll bring.”

MAY 15 SEASON FINALE | The final hour of Season 1 packs both “an incredible payoff and a shocking ending for Mary and Francis [as well as] Bash and Kenna,” McCarthy shares. “The king’s madness will also escalate in a shocking way. All of those events will come together — including the culmination of what we used to call ‘the thing in the woods’ — in a very surprising, dramatic end.”
